Don’t Be Afraid, Red Riding Hood!

What’s got into that girl’s head?

Red Riding Hood is a normal girl who lives with her mum at the edge of the woods. But in the last few weeks she’s been getting bad dreams and feeling afraid of the dark. Her head is all full of fear. Her mum’s head is full of worries, because Red Riding Hood has been waking her up in the night and so she’s not getting enough sleep and is too tired to get all her work done. As if that wasn’t enough, there’s a pretty greedy wolf roaming around, Grandma’s eyesight is failing and the hunter is nowhere to be seen. All their heads are full of different thoughts. Let’s go and take a look inside! We’ll see what’s going on in Red Riding Hood’s mind when she’s taking Grandma a cake that she would really rather have eaten herself, how she copes with the fear that overwhelms her when she meets the wolf in the woods, or how she stops the panic attack she gets when she’s in the wolf’s belly. And we’ll peek inside the heads of the other characters, too. We’ll discover how all our brains are different, but there’s a struggle going on in each of them between reason, emotions and empathy. We’ll learn how to face up to all that, so that we don’t get nightmares anymore and can sleep soundly again (and our parents can too).
